Cradling the Backbeat

Description:

A widely used technique in rock and pop drumming is placing ghost strokes both before and after the backbeat, effectively ‘cradling’ beats 2 and 4. This approach enhances the groove, making it sound fuller, more dynamic and rhythmic.

Extras:

Mr. Bean was supposed to deliver this extra. I think he's still on the way.

My Notes:

“Drumming’s easy. You just have to hit the drums in the right order... at the right time... without messing up.”

- Buddy Rich (Buddy Rich Big Band)
