The Mother of All Rock Beats

Quite possibly the most played drum beat of all time, the groove below is about as basic as it gets. It’s actually difficult to go through an entire day without hearing this beat at least once. Many chart-topping songs have used this groove all the way to the top of the charts. Back in Black—AC/DC (1980), Enter Sandman—Metallica (1991), Rocket Man—Elton John (1972), December—Collective Soul (1994) and even Baby One More Time—Britney Spears (1999) are just a few examples driven by this groove.
